For over 50 years, we have been stewards of this land;
mostly by just letting the woods be.
In return we feel the essence of its wildness.
We appreciate the inherent silence here, interspersed by the sounds of nature.
It helps us to center, relax, and rejuvenate.
We also love the laughter, vibrancy, and the joy of connection that happens when people come here to learn and grow and celebrate.
Centre Au Grand Coeur is located on 565 acres of rolling hills, woods, fields, streams and ponds. We are bordered by many kilometres of wilderness and secluded lakes and by the Quyon River to the north.
There is a network of many kilometres of trails for skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking.
The Main Lodge:
The main lodge is a log building built somewhere around 1860.
There are 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dining rooms and or meeting rooms, a large room to gather in, and a covered deck.
It sleeps up to 15 people in shared accommodations and can serve many more for day use.
Our commercial Vegetarian kitchen is fully equipped and people often comment on how much they enjoy cooking there.
Groups can self-cater or we can help you find a chef.
The Rec Hall:
The Rec Hall is a two story converted barn. Downstairs there is a pottery room and kiln, ping pong table, 3 showers, and cubbies.
Upstairs is one 24'X48' multi-purpose room with chairs, tables, and a tie-dyed curtain for "Variety Nights, & Shows".
Showers are located in the Main Lodge and the Rec. Hall.
The Strawbale House
We have Solar Powered Strawbale House.
A sacred spot with a beautiful view.
About a 5 minute walk from the main building there are four rustic cabins sitting around the edge of a meadow that we call "The Plateau".
The centre of the meadow has a camp fire area encircled with logs for seating.
Next to The Plateau we have a small, spring-fed swimming pond we call"The Spa"
Each cabin has cold running water and an outhouse nearby.
"Lennon's Lodge" is a winterized log cabin that's heated with a wood stove.
It has electricity generated by solar panels.
It can accommodate 10 - 13 people with bunk and single beds.
The other three cabins are for 3-season use, and have no electricity:
"Robbin's Nest" and "Ghandi's Grove" each have bunk beds that sleep 16 people, and can accommodate more with added single beds.
"Jane's Cabin" accommodates 8 people with bunk beds.
